Current Releases: Catacula Lake Winery is proud to announce the release of our 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2004 Sauvignon Blanc. The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon is our first release of a stand alone Cabernet. It has wonderful aromas of cassis, black cherry, coffee, cocoa and a hint of vanilla. It retails for $22.00 per bottle. The 2004 Sauvignon Blanc is by far our finest example of this white Bordeux varietal. It has lovely hints of lemongrass, pineapple, melon and bright mineral overtones on the nose. It finishes clean with grapefruit, passion-fruit and casaba melon flavors. This wine retails for $12.00 per bottle. Also available from the winery only is our 2003 Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc. Made in the classic Sauterne style. It has grassy notes of green tea, honey, apricot and velvety sweet citrus fruits. This amazing dessert wine retails for $25.00 per bottle. Wine Spectator Ratings November 05 Issue: Our 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2004 Sauvignon Blanc both received very good ratings in Wine Spectator magazine. Here is what they said: "86(score) Catacula Lake Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2002 $22.00. Soft, with very good intensity to plum and dried black currant flavors framed by a lively structure. Drink now through 2007. 825 cases made." "85 Catacula Lake Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley 2004 $12.00. Soft and refreshing, with a supple flow of melon, citrus, apple and grass tones. NewWine Club Format: We are expanding the Catacula Lake Wine Club for the coming year. We will be sending from four to six shipments each calendar year from now on. Our latest plantings of Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon are all starting to produce wonderful Chiles Valley fruit. Small, intense lots of this fruit are being set aside to produce special, wine club exclusive bottlings. These fantastic estate grown, single vineyard wines will only be available to our wine club members. Some examples of these future bottlings are: Creekside Vineyard Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc as well as our Hillside Vineyard Lot 5 Reserve Zinfandel. Join our club and experience for yourself the Chiles Valley terroir in all our wines.
