Winter Fun Week

  • Monday, February 18th – Friday, February 22nd

We don’t see much of it here, but in lots of places, winter is defined by snow and ice. Many winter activities depend on snow and ice … and we do enjoy those, even if we have to make the ice ourselves! The San Jose Sharks, like other hockey teams, need ice to play, and use technology to make their ice. This week we’ll take a closer look at what happens to water when it gets really cold … and what we do about it!

Other activities will include:

  • Winter Sports Photo Opportunity
    Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Wear the colors and logo of your favorite winter sports team…or your own uniform…and take advantage of a special photo op! Don’t forget your camera!
  • Ice Exploration in the Art Studio
    For ages 0-4
    Daily, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Ice is truly amazing when you take a close look. Investigate how ice feels, looks and melts using hands, tools, and liquid watercolors.
  • Snowflake Bentley
    Monday, February 18th – Friday, February 22nd
    12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Join us in the Theatre for a film and snowflake-making activity.

January:

Paper is most often made from trees, but it can also be made from other naturally found and recycled materials. Learn to prepare recycled materials for mixing paper pulp, and make paper to take home!

February:

To celebrate the last winter month, we’ll be creating art using an assortment of snow white materials. Design a palace for an ice queen or a winter sports amusement park!
