According to Newsweek, "There are two models for great American amusement centers... Disneyland and Exploratorium." The Exploratorium is like a mad scientist's penny arcade, a scientific funhouse and an experimental laboratory all rolled into one. This museum of science, art and human perception contains over 450 exhibits on view at any one time. Known as the first and foremost of the world's interactive museums, the Exploratorium is housed in San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts near the Golden Gate Bridge.
