The Bavarian-style, four-story Hofsas House was built on a hill between Dolores and San Carlos Avenues that allows magnificent ocean views from many of its 38 rooms and suites. This setting is very unique since most of the town's structures are one or two stories and lie tucked beneath towering pines. From the Hofsas House, guests look out over the village trees and watch glorious sunsets from the privacy of the inn's decks.

Because of its elevated location, rooms and suites are light and airy with large windows that take advantage of the views. Not surprisingly, the décor of the spacious guestrooms are reminiscent of flowering fields in high Alpine meadows. Each room is individually decorated to give the greatest comfort, and are very specious. The romantics will like the fireplace rooms or a suite with a private deck.

Other facilities not easily found in Carmel-by-the-Sea are the year-round heated swimming pool and two dry saunas. Our conference room is perfect for small business meetings, family reunions and festivities.
